Assessment and Treatment
For new patients, an Intake Officer (a Psychiatric Social Worker) screens the cases. Other members of the team do a detailed workup and history, and decision is taken on whether the treatment will be on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
Outpatient children visit the OPD once a week. Treatment comprises both pharmacological and non pharmacological interventions. A complete assessment of the child is carried out (Psychological Tests, IQ Tests, Academic Assessments). Parents are given psycho-education in accordance with the child’s problems, treatment and prognosis. Psychological counselling is provided to both parents and children.
