Antara’s Community Mental Health Unit recently conducted an impactful awareness program on 11th & 18th of November 2024 in the Diamond Harbour II region of West Bengal, reaching 107 participants from Sukdevpur village (Noorpur Gram Panchayat) and Chonna & Mankhand villages (Mathur and Kalatala Gram Panchayats).
Key Highlights of the Program:
The session was designed to empower the community with knowledge and tools for supporting mental well-being, especially among children. Together, we’re building healthier, more informed communities!
We were delighted to host the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Nursing students from AIIMS Kalyani, West Bengal, on an insightful exposure visit to Antara, where they explored our holistic approach to mental health care and community well-being. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the faculty and students of AIIMS Kalyani for their enthusiasm and engagement. Together, let’s continue striving for a world where mental health care is accessible, inclusive, and stigma-free.
We are delighted to share glimpses from an enriching and insightful exposure visit of students from Apeejay School, Kolkata, G. D. Goenka Public School, Dakshineswar, BDM International School, Kolkata, M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth, Howrah, and Ashok Hall Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Kolkata who participated in this meaningful initiative.
During the visit, students had the unique opportunity to:
1) Gain awareness about mental health challenges and the importance of holistic well-being.
2) Interact with experienced mental health professionals.
3) Learn about Antara’s compassionate approach to psychiatric care and rehabilitation.
4) Reflect on the significance of empathy, understanding, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
This exposure visit was not just an academic activity but also a life lesson in compassion and awareness. Antara’s mission to promote mental wellness and support individuals on their journey toward recovery left a lasting impact on the students and educators alike.
